  • Update Microsoft Security Essentials


  • Set Microsoft Security Essentials Settings
    • Set scheduled scan to Full on Sunday at 10 a.m.
    • Set advanced settings, enable Scan removable drives, create system restore point
    • Save changes


  • Update MalwareBytes

Scan computer with MalwareBytes, quarantine all infections found.


Restart computer in normal mode (Reverse the steps from this how to instruction)


Download, install, and remove any "suspicious" or unwanted software with IObit Unistaller.


Download, install, and run Driver booster.

    • Update all drivers


Download, install, and run Advanced System Care.

  • Select all and Scan in Care section
    • Enable "Automatically repair" option


Reboot computer once drivers and ASC has completed.


Unistall all software used during cleanup.
